 Dear Vendor,

Welcome to the Nixon Saturday Market for the month of November 2021! We are hosting a 1st Thanksgiving Costume Contest. Let your imagination soar! $5 entry fee, prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd Place and a PUMPKIN ANYTHING CONTEST… pie, dumplings, bread, cake, roll.  Fun prizes and Awards will be given.

We are so happy and excited to have you share your homegrown/homemade products with our community! The registration process is simple.

(2)   Pay the $10 booth entry fee by the last day of the previous month i.e. Friday, October 29th, 2021,

 at City Hall, Attn: D. Bustamente, 302 E. Central Avenue, Nixon, TX  78140 (830) 582-1924

(3)    Pick your booth location

      (4)  Be set up and ready to sell by 8:00 a.m.  (Set up can begin on Friday, November 5th,2021)

City of Nixon Celebrating “Hero” Symphony Alexander

Greetings!  The City of Nixon is honoring 7 year old Symphony Alexander with a Community Hero Parade on Wednesday, July 14th, 2021 at 6:30 p.m. Symphonys’ home caught fire recently. Her quick reaction saved the lives of 2 younger siblings and her Mother.
The Citizens of Nixon are invited to attend the parade and let Symphony know how proud we are of her! Please contact  Deborah M. Bustamente at Nixon City Hall for further information.-

Its that time of the year for the City Wide Clean Up Week ! May 17th, 2021 thru May 22, 2021


City of Nixon Clean Up 2021

The City of Nixon and Republic Services will be holding its’ ANNUAL CLEAN UP the week of May 17th– 22nd, 2021. All residents requesting curbside collection should contact City Hall to place their address on the bulky item collection list by Thursday, May 20th, 2021. On Saturday, May 22nd, 2021 Republic Services will provide collection of bulky items from 7:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

This service is ONLY offered to current residential Republic Services customers within the city limits of Nixon. Residents will be responsible for proper disposal of anything placed out for garbage pickup after 1:00 p.m. or over the 3-yard limit.

Brush/Bulky Guidelines

  • Limit your Brush/Bulky pile to three (3) cubic yards.
    • To determine the size of a cubic yard: Multiply the Length x Width x Height of the pile and divide by 27 (Example: 4 ft. Long by 5 ft. Wide by 4 ft. High = 80, then Divide by 27 which equals 2.96 cubic yards)
  • Brush/Bulky pile must be placed within eight (8) feet of the curb
  • Do not place Brush/Bulky piles in front of parked cars, near fences, trees, mailboxes, beneath overhead wires, low-hanging tree limbs or on top of gas/water meters
  • Residents’ Brush/Bulky items should be neatly placed at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 22, 2021

Accepted Materials

  • Shrubs, Tree Branches, Woody Vines, Other herbaceous and woody plants
  • BBQ grills (without compressed gas tanks)
  • Carpeting, Fencing, Furniture, Mattresses, Box Springs, Toilets, Water heaters, Appliances

***Refrigerators, freezers, and a/c window units will be collected only if refrigerant has been removed and the appliance is tagged and certified, indicating removal of refrigerant, by a certified technician***


Materials Not Accepted

  • Household Trash
  • Construction / Demolition Debris (i.e. concrete, rebar, dirt, sheet rock, lumber with nails, rocks)
  • Hazardous Materials (paints, household cleaners, motor oil, gasoline, used oil filters)
  • Compressed Gas Tanks
  • Tires, Car Batteries, and large pieces of metal
  • Televisions, Computers
  • Medical Waste (needles, syringes, medication)
  • Appliances with refrigerant that has not been removed and certified
  • Dead Animals


The Collection Station will be open May 17th – May 22nd,  2021

Monday – Friday:  9 a.m. – 12 p.m. & 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.

Limpieza en la Ciudad de Nixon 2021

La Ciudad de Nixon y Republic Services llevará a cabo su Limpieza Anual la semana del 17 al 22 de Mayo. Todos los residentes que soliciten recolección en la acera deben comunicarse con el ayuntamiento para colocar su dirección en la lista de recolección de artículos voluminosos antes del Jueves 20 de Mayo de 2021. El Sábado 22 de Mayo de 2021, Republic Services proporcionará una colección de artículos voluminosos de 7:00 a.m. a 1:00 p.m.

Este servicio SOLO se ofrece al cliente actual de Republic Services residencial en los límites de la Ciudad de Nixon. Los residentes serán responsables de la eliminación adecuada de todo lo que se coloque después de la 1:00 p.m. o más del límite de 3 yardas.


Maleza/Residuos Voluminosos

  • Limite su maleza /residuos Voluminosos a tres (3) yardas cúbicas.
    • Para determinar las yardas cúbicas, tome la Longitud x Ancho x Altura del bulto y divídala por 27. (Por ejemplo, 4 pies de largo por 5 pies de ancho por 4 pies de alto = 80 dividido por 27 es igual a 2.96 yardas cúbicas)
  • El maleza / residuos voluminosos debe colocarse a ocho (8) pies de la curva
  • No coloque maleza / residuos voluminosos grandes frente a automóviles estacionados, cerca de cercas, árboles, buzones de correo, debajo de cables aéreos, ramas de árboles colgando o sobre medidores de gas/agua
  • La maleza / artículos voluminosos de los residentes deben colocarse pulcramente en la acera antes de las 7:00 a.m. del día programado

  • Arbustos, ramas de árboles, vides leñosas, otras plantas herbáceas y leñosas
  • Parrillas para asar (sin tanques de gas comprimido)
  • Alfombras, Cercas, Muebles, Colchones, Box Springs, Inodoros, Calentadores de Agua, Electrodomésticos

* Acondicionadores de aire, congeladores y refrigeradores *** (vea a continuación)

*Los refrigeradores, los congeladores y las unidades de ventanas de aire acondicionado se recolectarán solo si se retiró el refrigerante y el aparato está etiquetado y certificado, lo que indica la eliminación del refrigerante, por un técnico certificado*


Materiales No Aceptados

  • Basura doméstica
  • Escombros de construcción / demolición (es decir, hormigón o sheetrock, corrugado, tierra, piedra de hoja, madera con clavos, piedras)
  • Materiales peligrosos (pinturas, limpiadores para el hogar, aceite de motor, gasolina, filtros de aceite usado) Tanques de gas comprimido
  • Neumáticos, baterías de automóviles y piezas grandes de metal.
  • Televisores, Computadoras
  • Residuos médicos (agujas, jeringas, medicamentos)
  • Aparatos con refrigerante que no ha sido retirado y certificado.
  • Animales Muertos


La Estación de Recolección estará abierta del 17 – 22 de Mayo 2021

Lunes hasta el Viernes: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. y 1 p.m. –  4 p.m.
