The City of Nixon is accepting applications for outside laborer, full time with benefits! The City offers employee medical insurance, vacation, sick leave and paid holidays after 90 days.

We are looking for a General Laborer to take up manual labor tasks and support operations on worksites, operate various types of equipment including, but not limited to mowers, shredders and dump trucks. One of the most important general laborer responsibilities is to keep the our city clean and safe.

 Required Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or GED

Valid Driver’s License

Must be able to operate a backhoe

Work nights and weekends, when needed

Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and physical

 

Job Requirements:

Operates various types of equipment including, but not limited to, mowers, shredders, dump truck. Assists in the maintenance of city right-of-way’s, trimming trees, keeping areas free of trash and debris. Rotating “On Call” standby duty required for emergency situations.

Seeking someone with stamina, a clean driving record and no arrests or convictions. You should be able to concentrate on performing your tasks and commit to safety rules. If you fit this description, and you’re also interested in doing tough but important work, we’d like to meet you.
